Sully vs. California
A challenge to all California's that call yourself a competitive multisport athlete.

It's just been confirmed Eric 'Sully' Sullivan has secured his commitment to the California Multisport Series of 2009.

He has put hold his world tour of international expeditions, meetings with world leaders, exclusive club hopping and important political commitments to return to southern California and compete in the exciting 2009 3 race series.

Will Huntington Beach's Slater Fletcher and his new winter training program have the edge he needs?
Is there anybody from northern California ever brave enough for the challenge?
Can southern California, the mecca of all multisporters and triathletes produce any new faces to this tough format?
Could even a relay team be formed to beat the reigning champion?

Fresh off a pre-breakfast 25km trail run at his 10,000' base camp in Crested Butte, the Team Salomon Crested Butte workhorse 'Sully' tells us through his agent (it took us 10 days just to get an appointment with his agent)  "I'm very glad to putting California Multisport back on my calendar. The events are fun, fast and a great compliment to the array of 1/2's, full Ironman's and expeditions I have going on this year."

Later in the day, between massages,  Sully comments about handedly winning all 3 California Multisport events of 2008 "The courses are diverse and keep you on your toes. I almost took it out of the big ring last year, but luckily averted such an embarrassment".  When asked about the competition level of Californians, his agent replied with one of those emoticons of that little yellow guy on the floor, pounding his fist in amusement. We're not sure what to make of this.

California Multisport - A new alternative to triathlons and adventure racing. 3 So Cal races in 2009: 3-5 hours, team or solo, mountain bike/ paddle/trek, no navigation, no support crew from Karen and Paul of Team SOLE. Novice, intermediate and experts and pros all line up together, the way it should be done.
