Get READY for Vail Lake! Great News! Temps are predicted in the high 70's! It's going to be a beautiful weekend! 2008 Champions Sully and Tiffany are registered and tell us they are strong and ready to defend their titles in 2009. Tiffany was in bike racing this weekend tuning up her mountain biking skills on the challenging trails high altitude trails of Big Bear. But, she won't be without challengers. Orange County racer, Monique Fletcher, has been training full time running and biking. We'll see if she can pick up her paddling game to challenge Tiffany on the waters of Vail Lake. The girls race is going to be fun to watch. Monique's husband Slater is fitter and stronger than we've ever seen him. In 2008 he couldn't quite catch Sully, but pretty sure that Sully's going to have to bring his "A" game to keep ahead of Slater. Sully's been training in the high altitude of Colorado and working on speed so we'll see if Slater can hang. Course details.... The course will start on the kayak, transition to run and finish on the bike. The kayak course will include a single loop of beautiful Vail Lake. The run will include some technical trails, hills and fun singletrack. We'll expect the first finishers in just around 3 hours...about 1 hour for each discipline. Share the fun, bring a friend. Registration is still open and volunteers are also needed. Directions to Vail Lake - From Interstate 15 in Temecula, head East on Highway 79. Travel approximately 9 miles. Go PAST the main Vail Lake entrance and watch for California Multisport signs.
