Big Bear Multisport - RUN/BIKE/RUN

Stop #2 of the California Multisport- Big Bear Lake, CA- 7000'

July 18, 2009

Trail Run- Mountain Bike- Run

New top dog Slater Fletcher will have a target on his back, with the likes of Big Bear's own Teddy Devito looking to bring the title to Big Bear. Watch for Mexico's new up and comer Ramon Escobar to fight for the podium. He comes from Tecate, he's 17, and he's fast..real fast.

The other Devito, local multisport specialist Heather will certainly give Redondo Beach's, Tiffany Myers, some heat. The two slugged it out in February at the Snow Shoe the Bear 10k in a foot of fresh snow. Tiffany edging out the expedition racing veteran Heather back then. The one that could shock the field is Theresa Uhrig. In Vail Lake she proved she fast on foot, running just minutes behind the men.  The duathlon format will certainly lean to her strengths.  And you can never count out local multisport athlete Kim Williams who lead the field until the final run at Vail Lake.

All levels of athletes welcome.  A perfect course for newbies.  If you are waiting till your ready, this is it!

Multisport offers a marked course with a trail run and mountain bike followed by a short trail run to finish.

9km Trail Run- 20km MTB- 4km Run

A great training event and the opportunity to improve your run, bike and paddle skills with no time wasted on navigation, no stopping to find the way.  Measure your fastest time against the other competitors' fastest times, no excuses for missed routes, bad choices, or misplaced checkpoints.

Go hard, do your best on a course that is well marked and easy to follow.

Our exciting venues offer a great place to hang out and watch the action.  See who's fast and find potential teammates.
We guarantee you'll love our finish line.  No lonely, dark and deserted finish lines with a handful of drowsy volunteers scrambling out of their cars to welcome you.  Instead be welcomed by fans, pumping music, raffles, and a live announcer that welcomes and congratulates you at the finish - It's a great feeling, you'll come to enjoy and expect.
